The US imposed new tariffs in August of 2025, meaning all orders from Sweden to the US are now taxed upon entry.
Previously, orders up to $800 were exempt.
The US customs calculate tax on items several times depending on country of origin, country of shipping and so forth.
For example, a t-shirt produced in India and shipped from Sweden will be taxed twice, once for each country and their respective tariff. This then adds up to a bigger import cost than what may be expected.
With these tariffs, the US seeks to deter and discourage American customers to shop from us, given that the way of calculating import tax sometimes leads to an increased cost amounting to somewhere between 60-100% of the original order value. For a smaller business like ours, it has been very detrimental to our American customers and our relationship with them.
We are doing what we can to keep our customers informed. This sometimes proves to be difficult, given that we also struggle to stay up to date with new tariffs changes and the overall uncertainty surrounding the tariff situation. At the moment, we cannot cover the tariff costs ourselves without drastically increasing the prices of goods for the US market.
To our American customers, we are sorry about the situation at hand and look forward to a brighter future in the face of the ongoing trade war.
